There are a lot of people who influenced my life... I am talking about those who helped me when I was young and budding...and those who are mainly from my village... The list is enormous..But this space is not enough....
Rajan Tholoor: Rajan Tholoor (Mini Nellikala) is a person whose literary excellence is not exploited due to the limited resources available in my village. We used to spend long hours discussing world of literature and general issues. He supported by writing speeches, poems, kathaprasangam, etc for me and motivating me to attend competitions during my school days. He is a novelist, poet, sculpture and orator. I owe my elocution skills to Rajan Tholoor.
Samuel Achayan : Samuelchan, from my own Nellikalayil family, helped me throughot my school & college days in getting almost all the weeklies & magazines in Malayalam, practically free of cost. I used to take the weeklies & magazines from him at night and return to him ealy in the morning.. Otherwise I could have never read all those weeklies..
I owe my passion for reading to Samuelchayan. He was a hardworking, straight forward person and liked by all.
Karunakaran Sir: Karunakaran Sir was a silent guide for me. He always motivated me with creative advices... He deals with issues at Nellikala without any prejudice.
Sukumaran Sir: He was my tuition sir. No explanation is complete if I don't mention his English Grammar Classes. I could get 96% in English Grammar (SSLC) only because of his tuition classes. He changed his profession later on and became a Railway Supdt....He is a simple and down to earth man and 'guru' for many young minds in and around Nellikala.
V.T. John Achen: He came to Nellikala Church taking his first assignment as a Vicar. We spent a lot of quality moments together and he contributed a lot towards shaping up my perspective towards life..
We continued the good relations even later while he was in Mumbai as the Vicar of Dadar Church. He went on to become the General Secretary of Yuvajana Sakhyam, Clergy Trustee of the Mar Thoma Church and Vicar General.
C.M. Mathew Sir: He was my class teacher from 8th to 10th std.In order to balance a class of toughies, he asked for a few juniors too. I was one of that. His sincerity to the students and thorough teaching methods were extra ordinary. He has got all the good qualities of a 'Guru'.
Roy Nellikala: Roy Nellikala introduced me to the social activities through 'Bala Jana Sakhyam' and sowed the seeds of organising skills in me...
Later on he lead me to Yuva Jana Sakhyam and other activities to cultivate leadership skills. He is a person with limitless energy and leadership...
Skariah Varghese Achen: I was like a member of his family, when we were in Goa. He was a very practical priest and committed to his duties and doesn't bother about "what others think". We had a very close relationship whereby I could understand that he is a very genuine person.
Molly Mathew Teacher: She was my Class Teacher in 10th std. She is an example of how a teacher can turn around the students through her love & care. Soft spoken & kind hearted Molly Mathew teacher was an inspiration to all her students.. She was like a Mother, than a Teacher....
Celiene: Mathew C. Abraham: Celiene was my very close friend while doing AMIETE at Trivandrum. We used to go for movies together and his sister (Aiymmama) used to offer us lunch. Celiene taught me bike driving. He used to write letters to me very often, even after we were separated and he went to join Air force. Celiene met with an accident and died at Delhi, one day before my marriage.
